Why do I celebrate Christmas Day?
Same as everyone you'd probably say...
Christ was born on Christmas Day,
At least that's what the calendars say.
I know not the day of His birth
When the Lord Jesus was born on Earth.
The scriptures say He came to save,
And His life for you and me He freely gave
He paid the penalty, He paid the price,
Only His blood would suffice
To take away my sin and shame,
My life will never be the same
I was dead but now I live,
Your heart to Him, won't you give?
How new life did I receive?
All I had to do was believe.
I asked Christ Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour
And He's caused a change in my behavior.
Once my life was dark and full of sin,
But by the grace of Jesus, I'll never live that way again.
Things of this world cannot compare,
To my Saviour's love - the reason for the smile I wear.
He has forgiven and now there's peace,
Safe and secure in Him; me, He will never release.
So why do I celebrate this and every day?
What more reason do I need than all my sins are washed away?
