Drew's Poem

Please take a look - and tell me - what do you see?
What do you see when you're looking at me?
Do you just see a boy who's not worth a whole lot -
Are you looking at me, or the problems I've got?
Don't give up too soon on the man that I'll be
C'mon, take a look -tell me - What do you see?
Well, you might ought to know that my parents are praying
And there's those in this church who really are saying
That I'm going to make it - that I'll turn out just fine.
And my Sunday School teacher's been givin' his time.
And most of all, Jesus Christ lives in me
And He'll make His mind up as to what I will be.
And now, I'm looking - there's something I want to see:
And I want to know - what's your commitment to me?
Will you put up with my growing pains -
Will you help me up again & again?
When I'm all grown up, will you be a reason
I'm serving my Lord and trying to please Him?
Now, take a look - tell me what do you see
Do you see who I am and who I can be?
Please take a look - and tell me - what do you see?
