So We Can Belong To Him; Serve Him And Obey Him!

Great choice! You probably liked Number 4 also. This is what the present tense of our salvation is all about. In most cases, when we find a specific statement in God's Word about the reason for Christ's death and resurrection, it will focus on the new life it made available to all who will receive Him as Lord and Savior.

Much of what is called "the gospel" today focuses only on where we will go when we die. While that certainly should be a very important matter to all of us, there is much more than that to the gospel of our salvation.

There is no such thing in the Bible as a gospel that leaves the believer unchanged. Christ did not die to merely provide a fire-escape from Hell or to populate Heaven.... God's Word tells us very clearly why He died:

"And [that] he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again." (2 Corinthians 5:15)

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works."

What a glorious salvation! Now I hope you will go ahead and check out the other quiz answers.
