Now Christ was born on Christmas day
To bring us Heaven's joys,
And Christmas trees, and toys and things
For all the girls and boys.

And Santa Claus is watching you,
And he knows when you're bad;
So if you want your stocking filled,
You'd best keep Santa glad!

I must revise my Christmas list
And scratch some names, I see;
Why, last year I bought gifts for folks
Who bought no gift for me!

Another thing that bothers me,
And makes me stew and fret:
I'm sure the gifts I give cost more
Than most the gifts I get!

Last year the Office Party-time
Was quite a blast, I guess--
I don't remember much of it,
Except the awful mess!

But Christmas is the time for Cheer,
And Santa's HO HO HO!
and Jingle Bells, and Mistletoe,
The Bible tells us so!

And Angels we have heard on high,
Tell us to: "Go out and BUY!"
While Santa, in his reindeer sleigh,
Goes streaking through the sky!

And some day Christ will come again:
At least that's what folks say--
And so the whole world celebrates
His birth on Christmas Day!
